{"id":1107,"date":"2018-12-02T08:48:56","date_gmt":"2018-12-02T08:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservationpulse.com\/?p=1107"},"modified":"2019-05-17T09:18:05","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T08:18:05","slug":"2018-12-wildlife-veterinary-seminar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indomyanmarconservation.org\/my\/2018-12-wildlife-veterinary-seminar\/","title":{"rendered":"Wildlife Veterinary seminar for young veterinarians and conservationists in Vietnam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0of December 2018, a Wildlife Veterinary Seminar was held with expert national and international guest speakers presenting to over 300 students at the Vietnam National University of Agriculture. \u00a0The event was a wonderful opportunity for young students who are interested in becoming veterinarians and conservationists in the future to gain more knowledge on environmental issues and wildlife diseases as well as learning about the work of professional conservationists and conservation NGOs.<\/p>\n<p>During the seminar, the audience heard informative talks from four established veterinarians and conservationists: Dr. Nguyen Ba Tiep, Head of the Department of Anatomy-Histology-Embryology of Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Rafid Shidqi, Project Manager of Thresher Shark Project Indonesia, Dr. Shaun Thomson, Senior Veterinary Surgeon of Animals Asia&#8217;s Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre, and M.S. Nguyen Tai Thang, Field Officer of Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo Myanmar Conservation (IMC) . Presenters shared their experiences, difficulties and challenges related to their work.
