{"id":2691,"date":"2017-05-30T06:05:53","date_gmt":"2017-05-30T05:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservationpulse.com\/?p=2691"},"modified":"2021-03-05T07:19:19","modified_gmt":"2021-03-05T07:19:19","slug":"2017-05-turtle_rescue_in_pu_mat_np","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indomyanmarconservation.org\/my\/2017-05-turtle_rescue_in_pu_mat_np\/","title":{"rendered":"11 turtles rescued to Pu Mat Rescue Centre, Nghe An Province, Vietnam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last weekend, on the 28<sup>th<\/sup> of May 2017, Vinh city Environmental Police of Nghe An province, Vietnam, made a confiscation of 11 turtles including eight Oldham&#8217;s leaf turtle (<em>Cyclemys oldhamii<\/em>), two Indochinese box turtle (<em>Cuora galbinifrons<\/em>) and one Keeled box turtle (<em>Cuora mouhotii<\/em>) as well as a single Sunda pangolin (<em>Manis javanica<\/em>). These animals were reportedly being transported on a bus from Quang Binh province to Nghe An in the illegal wildlife trade.<\/p>\n<p>This evening, at 7.30pm of 30<sup>th<\/sup> May 2017, we can confirm these turtles have been transferred to Pu Mat Rescue Centre of Pu Mat National Park, Nghe An.<\/p>\n<p>The Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo Myanmar Conservation (IMC) has been working to support the Pu Mat Rescue Centre which has received a number of significant confiscations in recent years.
